Holidays
They start this afternoon for 3 weeks. This means emails will be far and few between. Also, Al got a free iPod. You can imagine what he had to do for it.

Almost half term. Thank god. Going to Surrey for a bit with Al to see Rory and Dan. Then going to go up to London and maybe Paris for a bit. So good. Too tired to type more now. Lots of snow recently, but warming up. Yay. Just wanted to say I'm still here and still alive. Just.
We just had a week and a bit off for the half term break at school. Al and Amy went up to Hull to visit Jimmy and the other guys, and I stayed back here (for various reasons, including missing out on the last of the cheap tickets). So during the week I relaxed, went to Gilford and London for a bit, and generally took it easy. The first time I was in London I spent the day taking a look around Leiscter Square and the Strand, then went to see the Rat Pack at night. It's a musical which imitates a concert by Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr and Dean Martin from the 60's. When they were filming the original Ocean's 11 in Vagas, they would perform a concert everynight in the hotel they were staying at. It was a fun thing, all off the cuff and half the time whilst they were completely drunk. This musical was imitating that, and it was awesome.
Wednesdays wednesdays wednesdays. I have a sleep in until 9, then go up the road to the markets, then rock up to work at the hour of 11. Today was even better, because my classes before lunch were cancelled on account of a play the school is doing at the moment.
The school still hasn't payed us yet so my spending is pretty minimal at the moment, especially after last weekend. We stayed in London in a youth hostel for 2 nights, so we spent a fair bit of hard-earned cash. We saw a performance of Chicago on Friday night, went to the National Gallery, Buckingham Palace and Leiscter Square on Saturday, then had a picnic in Hyde Park on Sunday. Not a bad way to spend a weekend I think.
I'm actually on duty at the moment. All the guys are in the showers, so nothing much is happening. Unfortunately that means that I have nothing really to write about. What a shame.
England is damp and dark. The upside to this is that there are lots of pubs everywhere so that alcohol-induced warmth is only a street away. In the country town where we live there are about 7 reasonable pubs. Awesome.
Al is a good room mate. He does all the things any room mate should do, such as leave his underwear around the house and leave beer cans strewn around the living room. I counter this by drinking all the drinkable materials in the house. We have a good arrangement. Now that my phone is working, I'll take photos and post them up so that the squalar we live in can be revealed to the world.
The school is wierd man. Progressive is a good word to use in that there is no focus or discipline, but the creativity is better then most other schools. The kids are great, most of the time. It's pretty laid back most of the time.
I'm back on duty now, so that's all for today. I'll try and get back on later tonight. Hotmail and Messenger are blocked, so email me at Nicholas.Barkl@bedales.org.uk.
